Colors, Personalities and Behaviors - presented by Sherry Mitchell, MA, Chaplin
8:30am - 10:30 am (2 Contact Hours)
This session will take a look at the colors of our personalities. It will help us understand why some people are passionate, likeable and loving while others are grumpy, aggressive and can often be bullies. When we look around our activity rooms we witness an array of personalities and they are combined in one room and it can often be pleasurable but it can also turn nasty. An unknown author once said, "You have to understand yourself before you can understand others. It is essential, more than water and life, because, if you cannot respect yourself, what makes one think they can respect others? If you cannot love yourself, what makes you think you can love others? If you cannot understand yourself, how can you understand others? If you cannot meet your own needs, then how can you meet the needs of others?" So, let's take a look at our own personalities and then we can look at our clients/residents and come to understand each other.
Bare Footin' and Hatless - presented by Sherry Mitchell, MA, Chaplin
11:00am - 1:00pm (2 Contact Hours)
Think about how many hats or shoes you wear each day as you multi-task serving others. But do you ever stop to ask yourself, "What about me? Well let's go barefoot and hatless through our days and find a way to stop and "stay calm". Join us to find ways to stay calm as we go forth and focus on our residents and their needs and to provide great customer service with a smile.
